It’s challenging to grasp the big picture of the Bible. Yet this is one of the most important steps to opening up the Word of God to the hearts and minds of children (and adults too)! The New Testament Live event has been helping children and adults for more than 30 years unravel the mystery of Scripture and understand the big picture of the Bible. Throughout the NTLive event, children become actively involved with stories, lessons, games, puzzles, and other interesting activities aimed at teaching New Testament themes. Each activity stimulates imagination, fosters creativity, and enhances group participation. If this all sounds like too much fun, it’s because that’s how kids learn and retain most effectively!

- 2 Projects: Drawing What You See in Charcoal & Acrylic Painting on Canvas
Drawing is a skill that every child was born to do; it just takes a little know-how. For the first project, instructors will lead children through the process of making a charcoal drawing with a live demonstration and offer encouraging tips that will transform your child’s ideas of what art is all about. Children learn:
- Why mistakes in drawing are no-big-deal.
- What to look for when drawing from observation and how to get started.
- How handwriting and drawing require different hand motions and using the right motion leads to better art.
Children will walk away with a finished charcoal artwork and a newfound enthusiasm for drawing the objects that they love and see in the world around them every day.
The second project will expand on children’s knowledge of drawing from the first project and introduce them to painting techniques using acrylic paint in a live demonstration. Children learn:
- How to mix light and dark colors.
- How to handle and care for a brush.
- How to draw lines and fill in spaces with acrylic paint.
Children will love designing their own tiny creature paintings from a variety of choices — their own painting on a 6” x 6” stretched canvas that they can hang in their room.
