10 Things You Need to Teach Your Daughter Before She Graduates
(Family Discipleship)
When you’re choosing what to teach your daughter, it really boils down to what matters and what doesn’t … or what your daughter needs to know to live happily ever after. The only problem is that everyone seems to have a different answer. Experts stand on every street corner shouting something different. “They need to know state history” … “master advanced algebra”… and “speak a foreign language.” It’s enough to give a well-meaning parent a headache and an ulcer. After all, what if you forget to teach her something important, dooming your daughter to a life of misery and failure? Problem solved. During this hour, Todd will cut away the tall grass and share with you the top 10 things you need to teach your daughter before she graduates, which will guarantee happiness and success.
What's My Role as a Parent After Graduation?
(Family Discipleship)
The last bite of graduation cake has been eaten, and the trash has been thrown away. Now what? What is a parent’s role post-graduation? Can they still make rules, have a say, voice their opinion, or do they have to remain silent? Join Todd as he shares his observations and experiences, and what the Bible says about parenting adult children…who do dumb things. He’ll share what to do when the relationship has been broken, and your child chooses not to homeschool, not to follow God, or thumb his/her nose in your face and at your beliefs. A parent’s role and involvement may change … but their influence increases.
What to Expect When You're Expecting (to Homeschool)
(You Can Do It! Track)
Thinking about homeschooling? This workshop is for moms and dads who are wondering if homeschooling is right for their family. You want to go into this with eyes wide-open and realistic expectations. “Real dad” Todd Wilson, will shoot straight with you, sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly; and he will help clarify whether or not homeschooling is for you.
Invasion of the Conviction Snatchers
(Family Discipleship)
Do you have a child who doesn’t want to be homeschooled, in-laws who don’t understand your reasons for homeschooling, a spouse who isn’t sold on the idea, or a guilt complex reminding you that you have no business homeschooling your children? Those nagging, sometimes-silent disapprovals can crush a person under the weight of guilt and despair. You sometimes feel like a wave tossed to and fro because in your heart of hearts, you feel that God would have you homeschool … but then again, the arguments against it are almost drowning you. Join Todd as he goes face-to-face with the naysayers and shows you how to address their concerns, questions, and logic of why you shouldn’t homeschool your children.
Every Dad is a Homeschooling Dad!
(Family Discipleship)
You may not crack open a book, work through a curriculum, or call it school, but it’s your job to train your children. Join me as we look at the trials, triumphs, and tribulations of training our children. Now don’t worry, I won’t make you feel guilty or give you a 46-point outline, but I promise to tell it straight and to encourage you in the best job there is: fathering.
Raising Dangerous Sons in a Safe and Mediocre World
(Father Son Luncheon)
Most men today are weenies. They may drive fast cars, lift heavy weights, collect power tools, and carry big Bibles, but they’re weenies. When the economy collapses, the newest pandemic hits, a family crisis arises, or the going gets tough … they play it safe. Truth is: God wants your sons to live dangerously. He wants your sons to trust dangerously, work dangerously, and love dangerously. But that doesn’t come naturally. Everyone around them, from the media to our churches, keeps repeating, “Play it safe.” Here’s a secret: dangerous living leads to joy, a thriving family, and real success. Safe living leads to worry, family failure, and heartache. So join Todd as he encourages you and your sons to GET DANGEROUS.
