Lessons in Charcoal: Curious Puppy
(Children’s Activity)
A heartwarming project in the expressive world of charcoal drawing. This project guides students (ages 5-8) step-by-step as they bring a sweet, wide-eyed puppy to life, using simple shading techniques and playful texture. In less than an hour, they’ll explore the magic of light and shadow while creating a piece full of personality and warmth.
Lessons in Charcoal: Mountain Hike
(Children’s Activity)
Charcoal can capture the mystique of a landscape in ways that few other media can. In this project, students (ages 9-12) use value and shading to portray perspective and shadow. These skills allow a project to take on a three-dimensional appearance. Learn to create basic landscapes as you paint this serene mountain scene!
