When I say that Anyone Can Homeschool, I stand by my assertion. I have homeschooled through single motherhood, working in and outside the home, low income, chronic illness, and more. And it isn’t just me. Other parents do the same thing every day, in lots of different ways. How do you answer your young children when they ask you questions about history? Do you Google the answers? Do you just say, “I don’t know”? What is your response? You can have an answer, and you can do it with confidence! The answer is in the printed word, in the form of primary sources. The truth about history is voluminous! There is absolutely no excuse for us or our children to be in the dark. No matter their age, our children are ready to get history from the original diaries, journals, and autobiographies of the Americans who came before us. Nicki will talk about what these primary sources are, how to find them, and how to use them with any curriculum at any age.

Algebra, biology, and research papers can be scary. Who is going to be in charge of dissecting the frog? How will they learn to diagram sentences? A parent can’t possibly produce a college-ready graduate, can they? The high school years often cause a deer-in-the-headlights mentality when it comes to homeschooling. Even well-educated adults are somehow reduced to fear and trembling when the prospect of teaching their own children basic high school subjects comes up. But why? If we survived it, why can’t we teach it? Nicki wants to tell you what you don’t often hear: high school is actually the best part of homeschooling.

With the internet, self-employment has so many possibilities, and the world needs more Christians speaking truth! Entrepreneurship is a viable path for many people, and there are multiple ways to achieve it. Nicki will share her experience with various media, including YouTube, blogging, social media, podcasting, affiliate marketing, and even self-publishing books. Students will be introduced to a variety of free tools to get started in all of these. They will be encouraged to consider what kind of content they could share, how to build a brand, how to be consistent, and how to be a positive influence while earning an income.
