Identifying and Correcting Blocked Learning Gates
(Unique Learner)
Discover how to “Diagnose and Correct” learning disabilities or mild processing glitches in your puzzling child. Is it just maturity, or is something else happening? If your bright, hardworking child struggles to learn, one or more of their Four Learning Gates may be blocked. Parents can use a simple checklist to pinpoint which gates are affected, and then apply interventions at home, making learning much easier. You’ll learn how the brain processes information, where breakdowns occur, and practical strategies you won’t hear at typical homeschool workshops. One homeschooling mom with a Ph.D. in special education said she learned more here about helping kids learn than she did in all her university courses!
Teaching the Right-Brain Child
(Unique Learner)
Is your child a right-brain learner? Half the population is right-brain dominant! Right-brain learners absorb information differently than left-brain siblings and may not thrive with typical schoolwork. In this workshop, you’ll discover how to identify right-brain children and learn easy teaching techniques, like Right Brain Spelling and Right Brain Reading, that help words and reading “stick.” Many parents report dramatic improvements, including a two-year gain in reading and spelling within one year, with some children even asking to do more spelling. As a bonus, you’ll understand your spouse better, too, since we tend to marry the opposite brain dominance!
Smart Kids Who Hate to Write
(Unique Learner)
Does your child avoid writing or groan at the thought of picking up a pencil? If they write reversals, spell words correctly out loud but leave out letters on paper, or have messy math papers with misaligned numbers, this workshop is for you! Such children are often unfairly labeled as sloppy or lazy, but they may have a writing glitch — using too much energy to write — and are reluctant to put pencil to paper. This is often true of dysgraphia. The writing learning gate is the most commonly blocked gate in gifted kids, making it difficult for them to express their thoughts in writing, even though they know a lot.
The Biology of Behavior: Understanding the Connection Between the Brain and Gut
(Unique Learner)
Johnny is always in motion, Tom cries over small frustrations, and Susie forgets what she’s just learned. Dr. Sydney Walker notes that children “act how they feel.” This workshop reveals clues to your child’s brain/body chemistry. Dr. William Crook found that over 85% of children with sensory-processing disorders or attention or mood issues had many ear infections early in life. If untreated, these children can develop hidden food allergies and asthma. You can correct these imbalances at home and greatly improve your child’s learning. Parents across the U.S. share amazing results from using these simple remedies.
