Speaker Sessions
Thriving in Babylon: How to Live as a Godly Family in a Pagan Culture
(Biblical Worldview)
We are inspired by the stories of Daniel in the lion’s den and his three companions in the fiery furnace, but have we given enough thought to the foundation that must have been laid in their lives to help them thrive in Babylon? They were not only captive in a pagan culture, but their own people had been sent into exile by God on account of their own unfaithfulness and corruption. What made these young men different? Phillip explores this timely theme and how it applies to our present culture.
Help! The Smartphone Ate My Family
(Biblical Worldview)
Today’s parents are trailblazers, raising children in a digital world that no generation has faced before. Smartphones can connect us, but they can also consume us — stealing time, focus, and relationships. There’s no ancestral wisdom to lean on, and no well-worn map to follow. The decisions you make today will set the course for your children — and for generations to come. Phillip combines over two decades of ministry experience with Biblical wisdom and current research to guide you through the challenges of raising kids in a screen-saturated culture. With his winsome style, Phillip shows you how to find balance, regain focus, and restore relationships in your home.
Seven Considerations in the Age of Video Games
(Biblical Worldview)
In 1972, the first home video game console hit the market. Forty years later, the video game industry continues to set entertainment industry sales records that surpass Hollywood and the music industry combined. Phillip will cover seven things every parent should consider before jumping on the video game bandwagon, and what you can do if you are already being carried along but are not sure whether or not to jump off.
Hey Dad, Your Wife is Amazing at Homeschooling, but Your Kids Still Need Your Involvement
(Family Discipleship)
Dads are wired differently than moms, and they have unique contributions when it comes to the discipleship and education of their kids. Phillip will share some stories of his personal adventures over the last 20 years with his children, and a few helpful tips he has learned on the journey. Learn how dads can integrate multiple subjects into real-life experiences through the things they love to do.
Finding Green Pastures in the Digital Age
(Family Discipleship)
The digital age has swept in like a tidal wave and threatens to engulf every waking moment of our lives. Shepherding your family to healthy and restful pastures is a monumental task. Phillip shows how the timeless truths of Psalm 23 can help parents in the 21st Century.
Seven Things Every Teen Should Know
(Life Launch)
What does Scripture actually tell us about Jesus during His teenage years – and how should that shape the way parents disciple their children and teens understand their own formation? In this session, Phillip Telfer explores seven often-overlooked Biblical insights that describe how Jesus grew in wisdom, maturity, favor, and more. Grounded in Scripture rather than cultural trends, this talk offers parents a Christ-centered framework for guiding adolescents, while also helping teens see God’s purpose for their growth, responsibility, and faith. It presents a hopeful, biblical vision for navigating the teen years in a distracted and confusing age.
