Michael Smith
Legacy Trade College
Mike grew up in a church planting pastor’s home and was saved at an early age. He majored in carpentry and construction, graduating from Bob Jones University’s School of Applied Studies with a two-year trade certificate. He has been married to his wife, Stephanie, since 1994, and God has blessed them with five children. God has allowed them to help churches get involved on the mission field by leading teams, and they have invited young people to live, travel, and work with them in order to give them practical experience. Now the Smiths are expanding their ministry again by starting Legacy Trade College.

Teaching Trades in a Healthy, Biblical Environment
(Homeschool How-To’s)
Now is a key time to train and reinforce foundational biblical truth that will be vital for the rest of a young person’s life. A Christian who is gifted with a trade often has to make the choice to either go to college or to a technical school. Tradesmen who can responsibly handle the Word of God are needed in every community — in businesses, on mission fields, in churches, and as family providers. At Legacy Trade College, our goal is to train young people in the industrial arts and trades according to the talents God has given them, while simultaneously instructing them in the Bible and developing their ministry focus for a life of service (1 Peter 4:10,11).
